The African Americans in the colonies joined the American Revolution. They joined because they were promised freedom in return for their service. They were also promised to have the same rights. Over 5000 African Americans joined the colonist in the battles. While many escaped slaves ran away to join the British forces. Africans should be helpful in many battles.

Sisson lead the colonist to Prescotts door and broke it down with his head. Many slaves had an important role in The Revolutionary War.
